I was embarrassed because I was continually asking my co-workers and superiors to repeat what they had just told me minutes prior.

I was scared that I was going to lose my job and I didn’t want to let my family down. So I started looking for answers.

The internet is littered with regurgitated lists of “solutions” for brain fog. 

Most of these lists look like this:

– Take a vacation
– Take frequent breaks
– Exercise
– Diet
– And sleep more

Easier said than done. 

Listen, if you can drop everything you’re doing to take a vacation for relieving your brain fog, then more power to you! 

But, the work, the pressure, the stress and the deadlines, are ALL going to be waiting for you when you’re home-sweet-home. 

And what about “take frequent breaks”?

Not all of us have this convenience. 

Can you imagine the remarks in the office, “What’s up with Dave today? He got up like 30 times before lunch!”

Now, diet, exercise and more sleep is common sense advice. 

But when I was struggling with intense brain fog, I was already exercising daily and eating pretty well too. So I don’t think a few more carrot sticks and one more set in the gym would’ve changed much. Neither do I think depriving myself of my favorite cheat-meal now-and-again caused me to sit in a fog all day long. 

I needed something more than that. 

I tried getting more sleep and it helped me feel more refreshed in the mornings, but that didn’t last too long. The fog would still creep in, and sometimes, even last the entire day.

What nootropic should you start with?

As I investigated further down the rabbit-hole I discovered a term called “stacking”.

Stacking means combining multiple nootropics for a synergistic effect.

A good “beginner” stack that I found was: Caffeine (coffee), L-theanine (green tea), Ginkgo Biloba and DHA (Omega-3). It’s fairly inexpensive and I started using this stack the day I read about it. 

But there were some problems with my beginner stack. 

First, I had to make multiple cups of tea a day. That took time and most days I would only have one. And even if I had three green teas in a day, I soon discovered that it was hardly enough L-Theanine to benefit from the cognitive boosting effects. Shocking Study #1: 28 days on Cognizin

Shocking Study #2: 90 Days on Synapsa

Synapsa is a pure, patented form of bacopa monnieri.
